December 10, 2018 Online Banking Update

Effective December 10, 2018 the newest update to the Online Banking has specific requirements when accessing Online Banking via Apple devices. The update requires Apple devices to be operating off of Apple iOS 10 or higher. Any device that is operating off 9 or lower will need to update their device. Those with Apple devices operating off of iOS 10 or higher will need to turn off “Block Pop-ups” in order to access Bill Payments when logging in via the website. To turn off “Block Pop-ups” go into Settings click on Safari and it can be found under the General Section. Those who have an iPad that can no longer download updates or wish not to turn off “Block Pop-ups” can still access Bill Pay by downloading our FREE app by going to the App Store and downloading the Co-op Mobile app.

The Online Banking Update has also caused a glitch with the security questions. Upon logging into your account you will be prompted to not only provide your password but to also answer a security question. The Bank is aware of this issue and technicians are currently working on a fix for the problem.

Clearing the cache and cookies may help prevent receiving the security question at every login. Below are the directions for doing so using Chrome and Internet Explorer.

For customers using Chrome:

1.         Click Chrome Options (the ellipsis in upper right corner of the screen)

2.         Click More Tools

3.         Click Clear browsing data

4.         Click on the Advanced tab

5.         Ensure that Time Range equals All Time

6.         Checkmark all available boxes

7.         Click Clear Data

For customers using Internet Explorer:

1. Click Tools > Internet Options

2.    In the Browsing history section, click Delete

3.    Check the following boxes:

a.         Temporary Internet files and website files

b.         Cookies and website data

c.          History

4. Click Delete

NOTE: If steps 1-4 do not work, perform the following steps.

1.    Click Start (icon in the lower left corner of the screen)

2.    If the Operating System (OS) version is less than Windows 10, click Control Panel

OR

3.    If the OS is Windows 10, type Control Panel in the search box

4.    Click on Control Panel from the Best match section of the search results

5.    Type delete browsing into the search box in the top right corner of the screen

6.    Select Delete browsing history under the Internet Options header

7.    In the Browsing history section, click the Delete button

8.    Check the following boxes:

a.       Temporary Internet files and website files

b.      Cookies and website data

c.       History

9. Click Delete

Enabling Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2

TLS is the layer is a protocol that ensures that a connection to a remote endpoint is securely encrypted in order to provide privacy and data integrity. TLS 1.2 is the most current version and is considered to be the most secure. Browsers and operating systems that are currently compatible are :

Microsoft Edge, Microsoft IE Desktop and mobile version 11, Microsoft IE Desktop versions 9 and 10(when run in Windows 7 or newer), Firefox 27 and higher, Google Chrome 38 and higher, Oracle Java version 1.7 and higher, Mobile Safari versions 5 and higher, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and higher, Microsoft Windows 7,8.0,8.1, and 10. Apple Macs are not part of this.

Browsers NOT compatible with TLS 1.2 are : Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and below and Microsoft XP/Vista and below.

How to Enable TLS 1.2

1. From your internet browser, select Tools, then internet Options.

2.Click the Advanced Tab, and scroll down to Security section.

3. Ensure TLS 1.2 is checked, if not check TLS 1.2 and select, Apply, OK. (LEAVE TLS 1.0 and 1.1 checked as well)
